FAQ
Services FAQ
Straight answers about PCB design, embedded firmware, IoT development and how we work.
For general questions about PAK-EL LAB, see our main FAQ page.
What PCB design services do you provide?
We provide schematic capture, PCB layout, multilayer and high-current PCB design, power-supply design, component selection, footprint creation, DFM review and Gerber/BOM file preparation for embedded and IoT hardware.
Which microcontrollers do you work with?
We primarily work with ESP32, ESP8266, STM32 and Arduino-based microcontrollers, and can evaluate other MCU families depending on project requirements.
Do you provide both hardware and firmware development?
Yes. We handle PCB design and embedded firmware together, which helps avoid integration issues between the board and the code that runs on it.
Can you develop a complete product from concept to prototype?
Yes. We support projects from requirements and architecture through schematic design, PCB layout, firmware development and a working, tested prototype.
Which PCB design software do you use?
We work with industry-standard PCB design tools and select the tool that best fits each project's complexity and your file-format preference.
Do you provide EasyEDA, KiCad or Altium source files?
In most cases, yes — we can typically deliver source files in common formats such as KiCad, EasyEDA or Altium. Confirm your preferred format when starting a project.
What files will I receive after PCB design completion?
Standard deliverables include schematics, PCB layout files, Gerber files, a BOM and, where applicable, pick-and-place files for assembly.
Can you review and correct an existing schematic or PCB?
Yes. We review existing schematics and PCB layouts, identify issues and provide corrected files or a written list of recommended changes.
Do you support multilayer and high-current PCB designs?
Yes. We design multilayer boards and high-current PCBs, including power-supply and power-electronics layouts, with attention to thermal and current-carrying requirements.
Can you select components and verify their availability?
Yes. Component selection and availability verification, including alternative parts, is part of our standard hardware design process.
Can you provide LCSC and JLCPCB-compatible BOM files?
Yes. We can prepare BOM and assembly files formatted for LCSC sourcing and JLCPCB assembly workflows.
Do you create custom schematic symbols and PCB footprints?
Yes. When a component isn't in a standard library, we create and verify a custom schematic symbol and footprint for it.
Do you provide embedded firmware development?
Yes. We develop C/C++ firmware for ESP32, ESP8266, STM32 and Arduino platforms, including drivers, communication protocols and application logic.
Which communication protocols can you implement?
We implement SPI, I²C, UART, CAN, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, USB and Ethernet interfaces, depending on the project's hardware.
Can you integrate Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LoRa, GPS or GSM?
Yes. We integrate Wi-Fi, Bluetooth/BLE, LoRa, GPS and GSM modules into both the hardware design and the firmware that drives them.
Can you develop a Flutter mobile application for my hardware?
Yes. We build Flutter Android and iOS apps for BLE and Wi-Fi device control, including dashboards and real-time monitoring.
Can you build a web dashboard for an IoT device?
Yes. We develop web dashboards for device monitoring, data visualisation and configuration, connected to your device over MQTT or an API.
Do you provide prototype testing and board bring-up support?
Yes. Prototype testing, board bring-up, interface testing and debugging support are part of our standard development process.
Can you help after the PCB has been manufactured?
Yes. We support board bring-up, testing and troubleshooting once your PCBs come back from manufacturing.
Do you provide manufacturing and assembly support?
Yes. We prepare manufacturing files, optimise the BOM and support communication with your chosen manufacturer or assembly house.
How do you estimate project cost and delivery time?
Cost and delivery time depend on project scope, complexity and component availability. Share your requirements through WhatsApp or the contact form and we'll provide a scoped estimate.
What information is required before starting a project?
A clear description of what the product should do, any known constraints such as size, power, interfaces or environment, and, if available, existing schematics, references or sample code.
Can you work under an NDA?
Yes. We can sign a mutual NDA before reviewing sensitive project details.
Will my project files and intellectual property remain confidential?
Yes. Client designs, files and project details are treated as confidential and are not shared with third parties.
Can you work with startups and individual inventors?
Yes. We work with startups, individual inventors and established companies, and can scope a project to match an early-stage budget.
Do you work with international clients?
Yes. We work remotely with clients across different countries and time zones, communicating primarily by email and WhatsApp.
Can you handle urgent projects?
We can often accommodate urgent requests depending on current workload and project complexity — contact us early so we can confirm feasibility and timeline.
Do you provide ongoing maintenance and technical support?
Yes. We offer ongoing technical support for firmware updates, design revisions and troubleshooting after delivery.
Can you improve or continue a partially completed project?
Yes. We review existing hardware, firmware or app code and can continue development or correct issues in a partially completed project.
How can I request a quotation?
Send your project details through the contact form or WhatsApp, including your requirements, timeline and any existing documentation, and we'll respond with a scoped estimate.
